Town of Riverview

Another great project that took me back home to my roots out East. Though I spent my most recent years in Halifax, I had grown up in a small town in New Brunswick, not too far from Riverview. The Town of Riverview is one of three communities in the Greater Moncton Area, and happens to be New Brunswick’s largest town.  The town has been positioned as an ideal community for young families with it’s slogan “A great place to grow”. Riverview has invested in green spaces, playgrounds, trails and recreation programs that are all popular with both families and active retirees who live there.
I was asked to design around this concept of being connected to nature, to have a warm and inviting tone, and to feel fresh and modern. To achieve this goal, I created a sketchbook design as if an artist was exploring the town and making notes/sketches as they traveled along. I used several different textures, brush strokes, and sketches of nature throughout the site. I also took full advantage of Riverview’s existing brand colour palette, which lended itself to the overall artistic feeling of the site. I also created custom “sketched” iconography to complete the unique site.
